What can be a replacement for half and half when making homemade ice cream?

I’ve been wanting to make some homemade lemon ice cream without having to go to the store to buy stuff. I’m not a professional chef. Please feel free to leave any other lemon ice cream recipes.

DO NOT use a mix of milk and butter to make ice cream.
half and half is half cream and half milk and in icecream butter would not be an acceptible substitiute.

You can use whole milk but the the resulting ice cream will not have the same mouth feel. The flavor will be fine though.
