how much head pressure do you gain for every foot you go up ion a water tower?
The easy way to remember something like this is to remember that one atmosphere is equalivalent to about 32 feet of water. If you were to rise 32 feet you would add one atmosphere of pressure, or about 14.7 psi. The same rule also applies if you go down under water.
So raising water one foot adds about 1/32 of an atmosphere, or 1/32 of 14.7 psi, or about .459 psi. So the pressure rises by just under .5 psi for every foot you go up and you can approximately figure it in your head.. Ta da!
Use the midpoint of the water level for your height measurement point.
