One of the common characteristics of Autism is sensitivity (mainly to sound)? What are the common sounds?
One of the common characteristics of Autism is sensory issues (mainly sensitivity to noise)? What are the common loud noises Autistic children – people mainly cannot stand to hear?
I know several people on the autism spectrum (including myself) who can’t stand the sound of certain electric devices, such as hoovers, laundry machines, driers etc.
Many also have a problem with squeaky sounds, high pitched sounds or buzzing sounds.
It varies quite a lot between individuals though.
