what is the best reagent and the best way to screen flavonoid of leaf extract??

my leaf extract is the etil acetate fraction of terminalia cattapa Linn.my extract`s colour is green.i have not adsorbed its chlorophyll with activated carbon yet.does it affect accuracity of screening flavonoid??i use Mg powder, HCl, amyl alcohol as the reagents to screen flavonoid.but i am difficult to see colour change clearly because the amyl alcohol layer`s colour after i add those reagents is green too.so,i want to ask what is the best reagent and the best way to screen flavonoid of leaf extract??if the reagents i have used are the best,what can i do to see colour change of amyl alcohol`s layer clearly??

what is the best reagent and the best way to detect flavonoid of leaf extract as the first detection to know whether there is flavonoid in my leaf extract or not before i decide to isolate that flavonoid???

The usual method is TLC or column chromatography.

The Flavonoids quercetin and kamferol are the major ones found, but others can be isolated as well.
