Firstly, the design is marvelous as the pattern and the surface of the laptop is so unique and premium. I love this laptop at my first sight since the whole laptop could catch my attention tightly and easily. I must say that the illuminated keyboard is extremely cool! It’s the main feature that caught everyone’s attention! The feeling of pressing the keyboard is seriously different from other laptops as well. I believe you will fall in love with this laptop once you own one. For the screen, it’s perfect for me. I can’t get used to my desktop 22′ HD screen after I’ve used my laptop for a week. Impressed me a lot.
For the graphic card, I get a single GTX 260M instead of SLI 260/280 due to cost, power consumption and increase of weight. However, it running quite smooth in Crysis, with High settings (forget about the VERY HIGH one). It will be perfect is there’s an extra option of getting single GTX 280M. 
Stealth mode is fine for me as it save power when the laptop running with DELL F310J battery, by switching between integrated 9400M and GTX 260M discrete graphic card.
Ram and processor are variable and mainly depends on personal requirement. For me, I get the 4GB 1333Mhz and Q9000 since an additional upgrade for these 2 will cost a lot.
The software is quite impressed me as this is my very first Alienware laptop. Command Center is user friendly and grants you the control of visualization, power management and etc. in the system. The most important for me is the Alienware Respawn! It helps me to recover my laptop to anytime you prefer, including the factory settings. It saves up a lot of work to remove junks and unnecessary software as I used to reformat my desktop every time for this purpose.
Cons
The only disadvantage for this M17X is its size and weight
