Why is the skin capable of repair, even after serious damage?
A. Individual skin cells have a high metabolic rate.
B. Stem cells persist in both the epidermis and dermis
C. Construction of scar tissue is easier than making normal skin.
D. All layers of the skin have excellent blood supply
E. Both C and D are true.
I am studying for an anatomy test and similar multiple choice questions will be on our test. I have been reading and googling but I can’t find this anywhere.

If all layers of the skin had excellent blood supply, then why don’t you bleed every time you get a paper cut. I don’t think D is right, so that also rules out E.
Scar tissue is not from repair, it is replacing the damage with fibrous tissue. C is out.
The most exterior cells are already dead, so they don’t have a metabolic rate at all, so A is out.
B is the only one left.
