Why do women’s breasts sag and become more fatty as they age…?
Please provide a legitimate explanation for this physiologic phenomenon on the ultrastructural level and how it interacts with serum sex hormone levels rather than a retort like, “why do men’s abdominal girths increase as they age?” That is an example of an inappropriate response to this serious question regarding women (womyn or womenz as they have come to prefer being called).
This matter is pertinent to their attractiveness & thus, I’d like to know about it. Does this transformation of fibroglandular elements to fatty tissue increase the risk of developing cancer of the breast or teet (titty)? If so, why? Does this make milk let down more difficult as the glandular elements are replaced by fat? Why don’t the suspensory ligaments maintain the integrity of the breast (titty) so long as the woman is alive in the absence of necrolysis?
I’ve asked this question in women’s health and did not receive any responses after a length of time.
The breasts are anchored by suspensory ligaments of Montgomery to the muscle sheath of the chest. The ligaments are made up of collagen tissue.
With increase in the age the ratio of regeneration to degeneration of the collagen is reversed. So, the ligaments looses its tautness and is no longer able to support the breast tissue.
So, they sag.
