What is the difference between a Crow and a Raven; and how can you tell them apart?

Is there a visible difference between a Crow and a Raven; other then their size? If so; what is it?

In silhouette the raven’s spread tail feathers form a vee or wedge along the bottom edge but the crow’s tail is straight across the bottom edge making it look square cut. Roosting ravens can look tufty or less smooth when they fluff their feathers up against the cold. This is more noticeable in the neck & breast making them look like they are wearing a neck muff. Juvenile crows also can look less tidy but are small.

Crows calls are different, sharper and less croaky. Raven’s beak is strong and more curved in silhouette.
